Slap Shot is an ice hockey game released by Sega in 1990 for the Master System. Its gameplay is similar to Blades of Steel. This game allows the option of choosing to play an exhibition match or in a tournament.
Slap Shot has 24 different teams split into three pools. Loosely based on IIHF World Championships pools by the time the game was released, the three groups have different difficulty levels, Pool A being the hardest, Pool B being Normal, and Pool C being easiest. It's not possibly to play teams from different pools.

What a play! Get all of the hard-hitting excitement of real ice hockey with 'Slap Shot'! Shooting, ing, and teamwork on offense, and lots of checking, blocking and general chaos on defense. Play an Exhibition game, or enter the Tournament and play against the top teams in the world! Watch out for the other team's goons, though- they like to fight! If you get in a brawl and come out on the losing end, you'll have 2 minutes in the penalty box to lick your wounds. Accept the challenge- take on and defeat the best in hockey. Once you start, you'll be 'hooked'!'
