Baseball is a video game made by Nintendo in 1983 for the Nintendo Family Computer, making it one of the first games released for the Famicom. Each player can select from one of six teams. The game's team names are intended to represent of the Japanese Central League in the Famicom version and of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the American version.

D: Los Angeles Dodgers
P: Philadelphia Phillies
R: Kansas City Royals
Y: New York Yankees
The title screen tune of this NES title was also used as the title screen tune of some of Nintendo's NES Sports titles such as Super Punch-Out!! arcade games.

The NES version of Baseball was originally controlled via the NES controller with a cross-shaped joypad and two action buttons. The basic description of game controls is summarized in the table below. Detailed description of how to play this game can be found a in the attached game manual. Please note that individual gamepad buttons are emulated by different keys on your PC keyboard depending on the settings of your online emulator (see the table next to the game).
Using the D-pad, you control the direction and speed of the pitch, choose the base where the should go, or the base to which the runner should run. All this always in combination with pressing the A or B button.
If you are at bat, the A button is used to swing, or to return the runner to the selected base. If you are in the field, the A button is used to pitch.
By pressing B button, the pitcher throws to the selected base, or you force the runner to run out of the selected base or steal the base. When fielding, by pressing A/B + arrow, you select the base where the should go.
Press SELECT on the title screen menu to select between a one or two player game.
Use to start the game. Press during play to pause. Press again to resume play.
